What is the purpose of the certificate simulator SOLO STATION PRO?
Provide a specific and complete training in Analogue single piston engine aircraft both for VFR and IFR conditions.
What can a flight school or aviation training centre do with SOLO STATION PRO?
Learn, refresh and practice Analogue flight skills & procedures. With SOLO STATION PRO, the flight schools and training centres can provide higher added value to its customers, no matter if they are Pilots or Student-Pilots, by offering a robust, reliable and realistic Approved Training Device (ATD) specifically prepared for the VFR and IFR Analogue procedures.
What legislation applies to the use of a simulator certificate as the ONLY STATION PRO?
It depends on the country you want to operate the simulator. In the US, the Federal Aviation Administration sets out its rules in AC 61 / 136A of November the 17th 2014. This link can lead you to the document on the official website.
How many flight hours can a Student-Pilot log in the pilot-book using the SOLO STATION PRO during his/her aeronautical training?
This is an excerpt from the official text (AC 61/136A) that specifies the hours that can be logged in the pilot-book:
“The FAA will approve a BATD meeting the criteria found in this appendix for:
Not more than 10 hours toward instrument rating flight instruction time under part 61, § 61.65(e)(2);
Not more than 10 hours toward instrument rating flight instruction time under part 141, appendix C;
Use in performing instrument recency of experience requirements of § 61.57(c)(1);
Not more than 2.5 hours of training permitted under § 61.109(k)(1) in the introduction to the operation of flight instruments, except as limited by part 141 appendices; and• The flight experience allowance for the use of a BATD and the flight experience allowance for an AATD, an FTD or a flight simulator towards obtaining an instrument rating may be combined. However, that combination may not exceed that allowed under § 61.65 (20 hours maximum) and may not exceed that allowed under part 141, appendix C, paragraph 4(b)(4) (50 percent maximum) of the required training.
NOTE: A part 141 certificated pilot school must obtain a specific authorization for the use of the ATD as part of that pilot school’s approved training curriculum. This authorization must come from the FAA FSDO assigned to that pilot school.”
How do our customers receive the SOLO STATION PRO?
The customer receives a set of packages accompanied by 7 manuals. One of these manuals is the Assembly Manual where you can follow the steps to open the boxes, remove the different components of the simulator (panel, computer, media, controls…), place them and connect them.
How the simulator is switched on only STATION PRO first time?
As you will do from that day on. Switch on the main computer, its monitor and the flight panel. Once they are all on, simply double click on the driver made by Virtual-Fly on the main screen´s desktop and is ready for immediate use.
With which aircraft is it compatible?
SOLO STATION PRO is prepared and approved to fly General Aviation single piston engine airplanes. SOLO STATION PRO holds its Basic Aviation Training Device approval on 3 aircraft models: Cessna C172, C182RG and Mooney Bravo M20J.
How is remote assistance requested?
By sending an email to email@example.com and indicating your issue. Our technical support staff will provide you with instructions for working ONLINE.
How long is the warranty period for Virtual-Fly products?
Virtual-Fly is compliant with international legislation in force: 1 year for repair work and materials, and a further year solely for materials.
Does the control panel come fully assembled?
Yes, no extra assembly tasks are required.
What exactly is plug&fly technology?
All of the panels belonging to the SOLOFlightPanel and DUOFlightPanel family work with an internal computer. These computers connect to Prepar3D via a network cable, no type of video cable or USB is needed.
Must I execute any driver on the computer that runs Prepar3D?
Yes, this is a small driver (communications plugin) which is supplied on a portable memory drive.
I do not know how to set up a computer network, will this cause me any problems in terms of start-up?
Not at all, our plugin recognises the computer that is on the network with Prepar3D and automatically connects. Should a connection not be successful, Virtual-Fly’s technical support team will connect remotely to activate your panel at no cost.
How can I select the instruments panel according to the aircraft type?
This is very simple. You only have to press on combination of keys on the panel.
Why is an internal computer included?
The internal computer carries out all of the functions of the instrument panel, along with the visualisation and movement of the instruments. For this reason, your computer with Prepar3D can use all of its resources for the simulator’s scenarios.
